Attempts To Bring Cheer To The Common Men -The Human Beings

A supreme Court Of India bench headed by Justice R.V.Raveendran in a recent judgement reported on10 July 2007 in Hindustan Times sounded a note of caution that misuse of contempt jurisdiction could erode the public confidence in the judiciary .
The bench quoted U.S.Supreme Court chief justice John Marshall , who had warned two centuries ago that " the power of judiciary lies , not in deciding cases , nor in imposing sentences , nor in punishing for contempt , but in the trust , confidence and faith of the common man '

Nelson Mandela, former South African President , while forming "The Elders " a private alliance to launch diplomatic assaults on the globe's most intractable problems along with Archbishop Desmond Tutu , Jimmy Carter , Kofi Annan and many others stated " This group can speak freely and boldly , working both publicly and behind the scenes on whatever actions need to be taken . Together we will work to support courage where there is fear , foster agreement where there is conflict and inspire hope where there is despair"-- by Michael Wines , Johannesburg In Hindustan times dated 18 July 2007
